Shadows: A supernatural group of people who can see and communicate with their alter egos. Alter Ego: a person's secondary or alternative personality. To activate the shadow gene, one has to be at the brink of death. Every clan has it's alter ego abilities and disabilities, some clans had a mind reading and psychic abilities, some had ultimate strength and speed, some had the ability to teleport, some had the ability to be invisible and some had the ability of shape shifters, they were able to take other people's human form. Most clans activated the genes of their kids at birth and others didn't due to personal reasons. This follows the life of Simi who decided to apply to a college which was far from home in order to start afresh after losing her mother in an awful accident.
